Focal-America distributes high-end car speakers through its network of selected authorized dealers and to better protect the best interest of its customers, we do not condone the purchase of any of our products obtained through any unauthorized means or any form of third party online retailers or eBay stores. In order for our high standards to be met, we authorize only a few specific retailers to sell Focal products over the internet.

Amazon Sales - Buyer Beware

From our own factual investigations, we have experienced time and again the unauthorized sales of our products by both Amazon directly, as well as a number of Amazon marketplace sellers. With the exception of the six Authorized Retailers listed in this section, Focal America cannot and will not support products purchased from Amazon or Amazon marketplace.

Often the products sold via these unauthorized listings have been sourced from other countries or distributors such as India, and therefore are unable to be backed by Focal America. Purchasing products from unauthorized Amazon retailers means you will receive no product guarantee, no warranty, no product service, and no technical support.

Focal America cannot guarantee that any of these products purchased from unauthorized Amazon sellers are authentic.

We are also aware that there are frequently obsolete products sold via Amazon. A consumer may purchase a kit fully unaware that the reference is obsolete by more than two years. Likewise, they may purchase what they believe to be a current product and receive instead a discontinued version.

Protect yourself as a consumer by staying aware, and buy only from our Authorized Retailers.

Authorized Amazon Retailers

There are only six retailers authorized by Focal America to sell our products on Amazon.

A Few Things to Consider

Focal America / Orca Design & Manufacturing supports their products and guarantees them to be free of manufacturing defects for a period of:

- 1 year (non-transferrable) from the date of purchase, if purchased from and authorized retailer.

- 3 years (non-transferrable) from the date of purchase, if the product is purchased from and installed by an authorized retailer, and no alterations are made to the installation or setup of the product outside of the authorized retailer.

The authorized dealer will then work directly with Focal America / Orca Design & Manufacturing to obtain service, if necessary.

NOTE: Products bought from a non-authorized retailer do not carry the original Focal warranty. This means that if you buy from a non-authorized retailer and you encounter a problem with the product, you will have to go back to that retailer to get help and we cannot guarantee the quality of the assistance you will then receive.

If you are considering purchasing Focal items from an online store, or a retailer not listed on our dealer locator, please contact us to inquire about the store’s status. Focal America only honors warranties for products purchased through our network of Authorized Retailers.

You can locate a Focal Authorized Retailer near you by entering your location in our DEALER LOCATOR. You may also decide to search for retailers whose stores feature a Focal Display, or those with MECP Certified Technicians.

Non-authorized retailers do not have the obligation our authorized retailers have to market and sell our products properly. You could be exposed to bait and switch, where one product is advertised but not available, and where you are directed to buy another one, possibly of another brand. You could also see non-authorized retailers advertising products they do not have in stock, they sometimes use that to build up traffic on the reputation of higher end brands. If you buy from a non-authorized retailer and he closes shop shortly after, you will have no recourse. If you buy from one of our authorized retailers and he closes shop, we will be able to support your product and assist you in finding an authorized retailer to help you with your installation or with any other needs you may have.

Defaced Serial Numbers & Counterfeit Products

Buying from a non-authorized retailer exposes you to products that may not be genuine Focal products. They may even be defaced, as we have seen many with serial numbers that have been tampered with or removed all together. There are various counterfeit copies of Focal speakers in circulation, often sold on eBay or other online stores. We take this matter very seriously and are working with law enforcement agencies to put them out of business.

All of our authorized dealers offer a full factory warranty on all Focal products with a full verifiable serial number intact. Focal-America assumes no responsibility and will not provide after sale service, support or warranty coverage for any of our products that have been purchased through unauthorized retailers, or that have serial numbers removed, erased or have otherwise been tampered with.

Above is just one example of these counterfeit sales. The easiest way to identify that these speakers are fake is noticing the two blatant errors in the text on the front of the box (circled in red - the misspelling of Impedance, and the missing space between Ohm and impedance).

Poor Quality Reproductions

Fake speakers and the sound they produce are very poor in quality. We cannot stress enough that it is in our customer's best interest to purchase our products from an authorized retailer as it is the only way that we can guarantee their authenticity.
